The violin I build is based upon a Stainer model, with influences of Amati and Guarneri.
My idea is that as a maker you don’t have the right to make exact copies, just as Amati and Guarneri del’ Gésu (and all of the others) didn’t made copies, they worked under the influence of previous makers. It is, for me, a natural thing to do to take my personal path in making those instruments, with respect of the great masters.
