Katrien Vandermeersch - violin maker
Katrien Vandermeersch (°1956 in Sarnia, Canada) started her professional carreer in the graphic area, which explains her eye for finish and detail.
In her craft she is not only fascinated by the sound and the esthetic look of an instrument, but by acoustic research and baroque instruments as well. This is why her baroque instruments have both a warm and a powerful sound to them.
Katrien Vandermeersch builds hand made instruments. These are for sale and can be tested in the studio on appointment.
The studio does not only create new instruments, but does all reparations and restorations as well.
For newly built instruments the studio mostly takes on projects such as the bass, the violon or the Marcus Snoeck violoncello.
Because the studio is such a small enterprise, the quality is high and customers are guaranteed of a personal approach.
